Excel Stock Price Template Features:
In general, the template consists of two main sections these are the Dashboard and the Navigation Sheets. Under navigation, you may find the Portfolio Calculator, Indicator Explanations, and Company Symbol List.
As a matter of fact, the Excel Stock Price Calculator retrieves the latest available data from Yahoo Finance. There are 50 rows of the available input area with almost 7000 available stocks. On the other hand, there are 10 rows available in the free version of this template.
Now, let’s continue by reviewing the Dashboard.
This is a dashboard where you can collect different details of stocks. You need to select the “Symbol” column from the dropdown menu. After that just click “Fetch New Data” and the rest of the table will be filled out automatically.
On our Excel stock price dashboard, you can choose what info is collected by clicking on the column header and selecting another option. Just click on the header below and select a different indicator from the list. After that, again click “Fetch New Data” and the table will be updated.
There are 3 different sections under the Navigation.
Excel Stock Portfolio Calculator:
You can use this section to generate the profit/loss of your portfolio. Stock Price Portfolio Calculator fetches the latest values and calculates a total profit/loss according to your stocks and amount of shares. For example, you’ve bought stock from Apple, and you want to see the latest Apple stock price with your gain or loss.
All you have to do is to fill in the required info and press the “Calculate” button.
Firstly, you will select the symbols for your stocks in the “Symbol” column. After that continue with entering the number of “Shares” and click “Calculate”.
Please fill in the “Symbol” and “Shares” columns only. Following that, the rest of the table will be calculated automatically.
Now you can go to the next step on this Excel Stock Price template and enter the volume of stocks in your portfolio and the calculator will get the latest close price. After that, together with the volume of your portfolio, you will get the following:
- Total number of shares
- The total value of your portfolio
- Daily performance
- Individual value and latest price of each stock in your portfolio
- Gain/Loss of each individual stock
- Total Gain/Loss of all your stocks in your portfolio
The top row shows the total shares, value, and overall performance of your current portfolio.
