How can I generate a heat map for Ireland in just a few minutes?
In three basic steps, you can create Ireland counties heat map in almost no-time!
Step 1: Input your data
The data table is prepared for you to easily input your data. The spreadsheet takes your values automatically from this table. The county names are listed alphabetically in the first column so that you can easily find the county you are searching for to input your data.
In addition, this tool allows you to readjust the “Your Texts” and “Your Values” columns yourself. As per text, we have input abbreviations of the county names but you can fill this column with any information you would like to present on the map, be it text or number.
After filling the data table with the values and their representative labels, the next step is to set the intervals and color palette.
Step 2: Set the limits for data ranges
You can use the min-max table to set the intervals of data ranges. It is fully modifiable and can be updated according to the numeric values you would like to use. You can specify wider or more narrow ranges or just continue working with the already existing ones in the template. It totally depends on your preference and the data sets you will be working with.
Step 3: Set legend & text settings
You can select the colors to be used in your map from the color palette options. Each country will be displayed in the color positioned next to the data range the county falls in. In the existing settings of the template, lighter colors represent the lower values whereas the darker colors display the higher values. Please keep in mind that these settings are fully customizable and you may prefer to select totally different colors than the preset template themes.
In the color & legend settings table, you can specify the background, county border, and no value county colors. Besides, you can select whether or not to display the legend in the bottom left of your map, by choosing between show or hide.
Lastly, you can specify the text settings as per whether or not to display the country names or text.
